- Beginning in January 2011, the ACCC facilitated a 6 month collaborative involving 5 nursing homes in a workforce focused project to help the providers initiate sustainable changes in their organizational/ nursing home workforce culture and care delivery system to enhance the provider's ability to improve clinical performance in the prevention of pressure ulcers. On January 21, 2011, these homes participated in a complimentary pressure ulcer workshop hosted by one of our Board members. The homes participated in another all day staff stability seminar conducted by ACCC volunteers on March 11, 2011.
- In 2011, the Coalition participated in Phase II of the Pioneer Network's "Creating Home: Advocating for Change in How and Where We Age, consumer education initiative funded by the Picker Institute. Eight volunteers hosted meetings throughout the state to inform and raise awareness of culture change and to get consumers involved in the culture change movement.
- The Coalition continues to collaborate with the QIO and Advancing Excellence Campaign LANE meeting monthly at the QIO office.
- Approaching its fifth year of operation, the Coalition is now strongly rooted as a 501c3 non-profit organization with a focus on building engagement statewide in Coalition activities. Founding officers, serving an initial five-year term during the Coalition's organizational phase, transitioned on January 1, 2012 to a new slate of officers as designed in the bylaws. Goals for 2012 include:
- Conduct at least two statewide educational conferences
- Develop and launch an annual fundraising event
- Take advantage of collaborative opportunities offered by culture change, QIO and Advancing Excellence partners
- Enhance brochure and promotional materials for the Coalition
- Make improvements to the website.
- Looking forward to 2012, the ACCC is very excited about participating as a Tier 1 participant in the MDS Learning Collaborative.
