Major Activities This Year
  • Monthly network meetings continued throughout 2011.  Meetings were held with speakers to discuss selected topics to aid in the commencement of culture change in a nursing home and to continually focus on the culture change process.  Topics such as:  Culture Change and Medication; Culture Change and Dining; Culture Change and Housing; and Culture Change and Staffing.
  • The 2011 Network list grew to 176 participants.
  • Participated in the Community Outreach Project, designed to educate the greater community on the value, benefit and importance of culture change.
  • LeadingAge Oklahoma instituted Culture Change into the annual conference agenda, specifically Culture Change in Dining and hosted the Oklahoma Culture Change Network meeting.
  • LeadingAge Oklahoma sponsored a full day conference, "The Journey of Culture Change" with an attendance of around 200, with featured speaker, Dr. Allen Power.
  • The Oklahoma Culture Change Network webpage and Facebook has continued to support experiences, communication and provide resource information.
  • Monthly network meetings are scheduled to  encourage and establish education, support and to exchange experiences and plans to aid in the improvement of the quality of life for those who live and work in Oklahoma's long-term care homes.
