- Bonnie Kantor, Sc.D. started January 15, 2007 as the new Executive Director of the Pioneer Network. Dr. Kantor was selected from a pool of exceptionally qualified individuals after an exhaustive and thorough search process. “I am so pleased to welcome a new Executive Director with the breadth of experience that Bonnie brings to us,” said Charlene Boyd, President of the Pioneer Network’s board of directors. - There are now nearly 30 statewide culture change coalitions in various stages of development around the country. They are listed along the leftside of the page on the Pioneer Exchange. We have created an animated overview of key elements of coalition development.
- We have created a special page with interactive examples of the "Continuum of Direction," as developed by Sue Misiorski of the Paraprofessional Healthcare Institute and Joanne Rader as part of their Getting Started trainings at the Pioneer Institute.
- "A Tale of Transformation," a new culture change instructional DVD and workbook is now available for purchase. The work was funded by The Commonwealth Fund, and commissioned by AHQF to support the work of QIOs around the country who have the special challenge of working with facilities at various stages of culture change. The DVD was scripted, filmed and edited by Action Pact. All proceeds from sales go to the Pioneer Network to support our on-going efforts in furthering culture change in long-term care. - Almost Home aired nationwide on February 21, 2006 on PBS (and again on April 4). State coalitions are using the film to coordinate outreach events in their communities and educate local stakeholders about person-directed care.
