Diane Hall, RD, NHA, Owner, Balanced Senior Nutrition
Diane, a registered dietitian and licensed nursing home administrator, is the owner of Balanced Senior Nutrition, a full-service consulting firm with dietitians servicing nursing homes, assisted living communities, home health agencies and community organizations. For over 30 years, Diane’s passion and the company’s primary focus have been on balancing quality of life with quality of care. Diane and the consultants at Balanced Senior Nutrition encourage their clients to implement dining practices that provide safe, nourishing meals to both the soul and the body. Diane serves on the Executive Committee of the Florida Pioneer Network and was a member of the Pioneer Network’s National Dining Practice Standards Toolkit Task Force, and contributed helpful resources for the Appendix of the Toolkit. She is the author of The Inside Scoop on Informed Choice which gives care providers the latest evidence-based information and carefully considered forms to document and create individualized care plans. TUsing a proprietary documentation tool for self-directed dining care plans, care providers can ensure that the care plans they write will satisfy the regulations for informed choice while protecting themselves from possible litigation and citations. The manual shows how to identify and fix core problems with your dining services using QAPI-based forms. In addition, the learning centers at the end of each section are designed to “train the trainers” so they can educate other staff members about the ins and outs of diet liberalization. The Inside Scoop on Informed Choice gives care providers the latest evidence-based information and carefully considered forms to document and create individualized care plans that improve the lives of the people in their care — as well as safeguard the community from legal action and citations stemming from a resident’s right to refuse treatment. The Inside Scoop on Informed Choice gives care providers the latest evidence-based information and carefully considered forms to document and create individualized care plans that improve the lives of the people in their care — as well as safeguard the community from legal action and citations stemming from a resident’s right to refuse treatment. The Inside Scoop on Informed Choice gives care providers the latest evidence-based information and carefully considered forms to document and create individualized care plans that improve the lives of the people in their careThe Inside Scoop on Informed Choice gives care providers the latest evidence-based information and carefully considered forms to document and create individualized care plans that improve the lives of the people in their carehe Inside Scoop and the Dining Standards Toolkit are both available through the Pioneer Network online Store.
