Mother’s Day is Sunday, May 10

In these times of physical distancing, Mother’s Day celebrations won’t be the same, but knowing the Pioneers, there is no doubt they will still be very special.

Please share your plans and projects so we can share them with the Network.

Together we can honor mother’s everywhere!

Mary Sue Wilkerson shared something great that she has put together to help as you celebrate Mother’s Day!
A special Mother’s Day video she made might brighten your day and that of those you care for and love.
    Here’s the song list:
    Mama Don’t Allow
    I Want a Girl
    You Are Wonderful Mother
    Three Little Fishies
Ma, He’s Making Eyes at Me
    Hush Little Baby
She’ll Be Coming Round the Mountain (adapted)
    Carolina Moon
If I Knew You Were Coming I’d Have Baked a Cake
    Laughing at Life
    Goodbye Ladies (adapted)

Check out the video as well as her Mother’s Day trivia and a game in the ABCs of Combating Isolation / Community, Connection and Creativity page.

At my long term care home we are having families send in emails with notes to their mothers. We are then printing them and putting them on mothers day cards to give them on May 10th. We are also making felt roses to give to every mother and buying fresh carnations. We are then on May 10 going to provide skype calls, window visits and one to one tea social cart that we will bring around to the residents with the flowers and cards. It is not the same but we are trying out best to make it as nice as possible for them.

Thanks for sharing, Rachel. Sounds like you are doing a lot to support the mother’s in your home and their families. Thanks to you and your team for all you are doing!
